Bilingual Classes
Grades 1 and 2 are bilingual, with instruction delivered according to Lithuanian national programmes, and some subjects taught using Cambridge International curricula.
Instruction is conducted simultaneously in Russian and English using the team-teaching system. This means that two teachers are present in the classroom at all times — one Russian-speaking and one English-speaking (who does not speak Russian to the children).
This approach allows children to:
Not just learn English as a subject,
but learn through English — a completely different level of language immersion.
The ability to learn through English is essential for studying Cambridge programmes at our school and for continuing education in English at college or university.
During the first 1–2 months in the bilingual first grade, most subjects are taught mainly in Russian. English is introduced gradually — starting with essential terminology, the most frequent classroom actions, and through games during breaks. Over time, the amount of English increases, and within 4–5 months, children transition to studying some subjects entirely in English. At first, the Russian-speaking teacher leads most lessons, and gradually the English-speaking teacher becomes the lead instructor.
For example, in the 2024–2025 school year, first-grade students in the bilingual class began studying Mathematics entirely in English within just 4 months.

    Ensuring Understanding and Support

Our priority is not only to teach children to learn in English but also to ensure they maintain a high level of comprehension of subjects and school rules. In the bilingual environment with support in Russian, this is achieved with maximum effectiveness.

    Comfortable and Safe Atmosphere

The constant presence of both the English-speaking and Russian-speaking teacher helps children feel confident, knowing they will always be understood and will receive the help and support they need.

In bilingual classes, students receive up to 12 hours per week of instruction in English. This includes not only English language lessons but also other subjects taught in English.
